Most cases do not require court attendance. Court involvement is usually limited to situations when the application is defended or there are jurisdiction issues.
From filing the application to the Final Order, the minimum time is 26 weeks (about 6 months). This includes a mandatory 20-week reflection period and a 6-week wait between the Conditional and Final Orders.
Full financial disclosure is required, normally by way of a Form E, which sets out what information is required by each party.

If a financial agreement is reached, this can be incorporated into a Consent Order, which outlines the terms of your agreement. The Court will consider the agreement and if it deems the same to be fair, it is approved and sealed and become a binding Order.
